I spent my afternoon out photographing with my seven year old daughter Lauren.   We went out to one of our favourite places near where we live, McCook Beach.  The bluffs at McCook Beach overlook where Niantic Bay  meets Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, and the view is always nice.  This is the first time Lauren felt comfortable enough to climb out on the rocks (don't worry I kept a close hand on her so she wasn't going anywhere) and shoot from a high, unsecured, vantage point.

I think Lauren did a fantastic job shooting today.

I think Lauren's shooting today left me in the dust.   I love how she sees the world through her lens (and it legitimately is her lens, it belongs to her).

I touched down this morning, for the last day of my 3.5 day round-the-world journey, in Incheon, South Korea.   Upon arrival I headed out to go explore the  Incheon Transportation Center. I love the interior and exterior architecture of this complex. The  the symmetry and asymmetrical patterns are just wonderful, as is the complex repeating pattern of metal and glass plating.

I was lucky enough to be able to watch the sun rise over portions of the complex and to be able to convince two police  officers to let me climb up a portion of the roof to capture an angle I was interested in.

My evening in Hong Kong was spent shooting a series of Bridal Portraits with Candice.  Candice wanted to embrace the feel and speed of the city she calls home, so we hit the streets. Using the mix of sky scrapers, quiet side streets and busting intersections we created a series of images that embraced various aspects of Hong Kong. 

I am looking forward to photographing Candice and Kurt's three day wedding affair in Paris, followed by their reception in Hong Kong, throughout the month of May.

Today is Day 2 of a 3.5 day journey around the world to shoot a few projects.  This morning started with a fog over Frankfurt, with just the glimpse of blue behind the dense grey sky.

I spent my morning looking for an interesting building to photograph and a mix of classic apartment buildings set against the towering sky scrapers that make up Frankfurt's skyline.   Luckily, I found both near the Taunasanlage train station.

I spent the first part of my day finding homes intermixing with glass sky scrapers, and sky scrapers completely surrounding a serene children's playground, and I finished up by focusing on the Skyper Building. The Skyper Building looks like most tall blueish   glass sky scrapers, except it's unique concave design that caught my eye.  I shot the building from a variety of angles, both close up, and from a distance to show the building from different vantage points.

Now I'm back at the airport in Frankfurt awaiting my flight to Hong Kong for a shoot there tomorrow. One more day away then home to my kids!

Today is Day 1 of a 3.5 day journey around the world to shoot a few projects.   I landed this morning in Philadelphia and promptly set off to create some images of the Cira Center.   I love the unusual flat sloping corner of the building, it is unusual and it stands out against the other architecture in Philadelphia.

I'm off in a few hours to shoot in Frankfurt  tomorrow, Hong Kong on Friday and home on Saturday.

My evening in San Francisco was spent with Michelle, Kostya and their two dogs (who seemed to enjoy being photographed). Using the last of the day's blue sky we headed over to Ghirardelli Square , followed by me playing with in-camera exposures to bring out some colour overthe Golden gate Bride and the Marin Headlands,finally finishing up on the steps of the Aquatic Park well after dark.

Despite the high winds,and dropping temperatures,Michelle and Kostya (and the dogs) were good sports while we created their engagement photos.

........once we were done I packed up and headed back to the airport to catch my flight back to Hartford.

I spent my afternoon in San Francisco with Kara and Howard, laughing and shooting photos  of them being..........well themselves.  Starting with placing Kara and Howard inside the  Vaillancourt Fountain on the Embarcadero through shooting them as the sun set behind them over the Golden Gate Bridge we had a fun time.

I look forward to finding myself laughing with Kara and Howard again when I shoot their wedding on the 23rd of August, in Los Angeles

I left my house this morning at 3:30am to catch my flight from Hartford,CT to San Francisco, CA. I landed at 11:30am and started photograph the engagement sessions of  three wedding couples at 1:00pm. I am documenting the weddings of two of these couples later this year.

The photos below are of Heather and Cyrille who's wedding I look forward to documenting in San Francisco on July 4th.   Working with fun people and great couples made this long day

This evening was spent shooting an engagement session in the historic streets of Newport, Rhode Island, with Danielle and Jeff. I'll be documenting Danielle and Jeff's wedding in December in Massachusetts.

I love Newport. The timeless maritime city is full of 300+ year old buildings with wood shingling,  small covered walk-throughs and the classic historic churches. As Danielle, Jeff and I headed out with the sun low in the sky, I scouted out locations where I could incorporate the warm intense sunlight into their images.   Once darkness approached and Queen Anne Square  was lit up with street lights and an illuminated steeple the obvious way to wrap up our engagement session was to have Danielle and Jeff become part of the street scene in the Square.

Today I spent a fantastic afternoon photographing an engagement session in the streets of Philadelphia with Shaunelle and Will. I will be documenting their wedding on the 5th of July.

This day started with a bit of a panic,  I woke up to check the weather for Philadelphia before my flight down only to see a forecast for chilly weather and snow.   I love working in the snow, but the forecast was not for white fluffy snow, it was or wet-sleet-snow, not something I like to work in.   Upon landing at PHL I was greeted with blue skies and warm sunlight on my face.  Clearly Mother Nature wanted Shaunelle and Will to have a great day to photographed!

At the conclusion of our shooting time Shaunelle and Will treated me to my very first cheesesteak in Philly, at Pats'.   I have been to Philly countless times but I had never had a cheesesteak (hard to believe, eh?). It was GREAT!

Snow!!  We have snow!!   Whatelse do you do in the snow before it melts?  Go sledding!!

Lauren and Max had a great time on the hill at our local beach (yes our sledding hill is at the beach, weird, eh?).   Little Simon just sat the top of the hill, he's still a bit to young.

Another early morning, but the last leg of my journey home to see my kids!

There is not much I hate more than 3:00am wake up call. I don't care what time zone I am in, I just hate a 3:00am wake up call, but my flight home was at 6:00am and I knew I had to pack up, shower, get to the airport and clear US Immigrations before boarding my flight from Vancouver, BC to San Francisco, CA.

No matter how many times I have flown from Canada to the U.S. I still get a good chuckle from looking up and seeing a big sign reading "Welcome To The USA" while still in Canada.  I understand why there is US Immigrations and Customs in Canadian airport for US/TransBoarder flights, but no matter how you slice it, when you get greeted to the US, you're actually in Canada.

Today will be an attempt edit the few thousand photos I shot on this trip, watch some movies and relax a bit as I travel from Vancouver to San Francisco, San Francisco to New York.....then try and make my Amtrak Train home from New York with only 1 hour between the time I land at JFK Int'l Airport and my train departs New York Penn Station for Old Saybrook, Connecticut. To get from JFK to Penn Station I need to catch the Air Train to Jamaica Station, and the Long Island Rail Road from Jamaica Station to Penn Station..............no pressure here

....................OK.......turns out I made the train home to hang out with my kids and dole out the Hello Kitty and Thomas The Tank Engine toys I picked up for them while in Hong Kong.
