13-December-2006 New York, New York
It's a rainy day here in New York City. I was hoping for clear and blue skies, but Mother Nature and I are not always on the same page.
My assignment had a limited amount of time to shoot a series of portraits of Nahela Hadi, who is an executive with a United Nations humanitarian organization. With a clear idea of what needed to be depicted in the photos I was not put off by the heavy rains and the wind. I have to say I was very impressed by Ms. Hadi's willingness to trudge out into the foul weather for this photo shoot.
The wind died down just long enough for a quick 10 minutes of shooting in front of he United Nations Headquarters Building. The grey sky ended up providing a very moody backdrop which I think worked nicely with the serious subject that Ms Hadi works with on a daily basis.
I am off to catch a train back to Connecticut for my son Max's 2nd Birthday!
