It's that time of the year again......first day of school!  Fresh pencils, new sneakers and unfortunately a big flashing signal that summer is coming to an end.

 

Today was Lauren's first day of school. She's getting so big, 2nd grade! Wow!

Below are two photos from this morning. The first is of Lauren with her brother's Max and  Simon (he's the one in her lap). The second photo is of Lauren waiting to get on the bus.

.............she wanted to bring her camera to shoot the first day of school. I unfortunately had to say no. Maybe next year.

Jennifer & Justin's Wedding

The work produced for Jennifer and Justin is unlike any other edited body of work I have created for a wedding couple. At the request of the bride, Jennifer, each and every image I edited for this wedding has undergone substantial post-processing in Photoshop.  While I often use Photoshop to play with one or two images for my own creative uses, I rarely if ever present these images to my couples, as it is not how I generally work. My work with wedding couples is of a generally documentary nature, and my image style usually reflects that. However I went with Jennifer's request and had a great time doing it. This is also the first and only wedding I have ever edited where every single images is cropped to the exact same size dimensions, which gave me an added challenge, one I set upon myself.........so when I say this work is unlike any other I have produced, I really mean it.

Editing the 50 image you see below took me almost the same amount of time I spent shooting Jennifer and Justin's wedding.

Today the new online edition of Photo District News was updated with the new list of "Who's Shooting What" section. Upon reading PDN Newswire's "Who's Shooting What" advertising section, I found my Oasis Hong Kong project listed among the highlighted commercial projects.

Photo District News is the de facto publication covering the professional photography industry, both in print and online.  The PDN Newswire is a high traffic section of PDN, frequently read by photographers representatives, photo agents, art directors, photo buyers and others in the photography business.

I am quite happy to see my name, and the Oasis Hong Kong photography project listed among some other major national and international advertising campaigns.

Today was a fantastic day for a picnic, so we headed down to the park overlooking Niantic Bay, and the Long Island Sound ,for lunch.

Normally I'd never post my eating habits, or those of my family, on my blog, but I ended up shooting a photo I love of little baby Simon. With the sun out, I laid Simon out on the grass for Big Brother Max to play with him, and Simon fell asleep.......so I had to shoot him sleeping in the grass with the water out behind him.
